The Mahatma Gandhi Mission trust popularly known as MGM was established on 20 December 1982 in India with the aim to provide quality education to future doctors and medical scientists and by advancing knowledge in all fields of health sciences through meaningful and ethical research.  Trust has focused to expand the academic and health care services to all. MGMIHS was conferred Deemed to be University status under Section 3 of UGC Act 1956 by the Ministry of Human Resource & Development, Govt. of India on 30th August 2006 with two of its constituent colleges.
